As you might remember I recently switched window manager to Openbox. I'm still quite happy with it, but I ran into some trouble. The main trouble was that some KDE apps for some reason started with an offset of -40 or so, causing the menu to disappear above my screen. There was no way to move it back.
Luckily, today, zeroK pointed me to Devil's Pie, a small app that you can run in the background, and which helps you to control the placement (and quite a few other attributes) of new windows that appear on your screen. Very nice! So now, all my windows start nicely at offset 0,0 in the upper left corner of my screen.
